The Breathing Death Catacombs

You enter a vast cavern illuminated by a distant green light source high on the ceiling. The cavern conceals a lake that extends as far as the eye can see, with a solitary island located at its center.

On the island, behind dead trees, lies an old mausoleum shaped like an Osirian pyramid. This is likely what you seek.

The Breathing Death Island

Undead troops guard the island. When the party arrives, the troops form from the laying bones before the mausoleum to protect it, fighting fiercely with screams, pains, blood, and tears.

The island, formed during Xulgath times, was part of the shamans' "test of life," designed to teach them about the value and fragility of life. Currently, the magic remains active. Anyone who steps onto the island must undergo death and then be resurrected into the sarcophagus of the Breathing Death Catacombs.

The catacombs are built from precisely cut stone and entirely underground. The exterior walls are 2 feet thick, interior walls are 1 foot thick. Rooms are 12 feet high; hallways are 8 feet high. The tomb has no lighting except as specified. Stone doors with iron bands are unlocked. Walls and doors often feature carvings of Reptilian humanoids in heavy armor, representing Xulgath warriors.
