Shaezhar's Items

The Tragic Tale of Shaezhar Deathhand
In the shadowy realms of the shadow world, there lived a powerful mage named Shaezhar Deathhand. His brilliance in magic was unmatched, yet his heart ached with a profound loneliness. Devoid of companionship and driven by the need to create life, Shaezhar sought to fill the void within his soul. He yearned to wield the power of creation, to conjure beings that would offer him the solace and companionship he so desperately craved.
Shaezhar's quest for creation led him down a perilous path. In his desperation, he was deceived by the god of the undead (Urgathoa), an ancient deity with a twisted sense of humor and an insatiable thirst for chaos. The god promised Shaezhar the knowledge and power to create life but concealed the malevolent price that came with such forbidden wisdom.
Oblivious to the god's true intentions, Shaezhar delved into the dark arts of necromancy. His studies consumed him, as he devoted every waking moment to mastering the secrets of the dead. Little did he know, his pursuit of life would ultimately lead him to an unholy transformation.
Shaezhar crafted three powerful artifacts during his dark journey: the Skull Staff of Death, the intelligent dagger Thelgax, and Necronomus, a sinister tome imbued with a fragment of his soul. Each artifact was a masterpiece of necromantic artistry, bearing a portion of Shaezhar's essence within them.
As he poured his soul into these artifacts, the god of the undead's true plan came to fruition. The god's deceitful guidance had bound Shaezhar's soul to the very instruments of his power, transforming him into a lich—an immortal being sustained by dark magic and the souls of the dead. Shaezhar's once pure intentions to create life had twisted into an unending hunger for death and dominance.
Now a lich, Shaezhar Deathhand commanded an army of the undead. His skeletal visage and glowing eyes became a symbol of terror, and his name was whispered with dread throughout the shadow world. His mastery over necromancy and dark magic made him a formidable adversary, and he struck fear into the hearts of those who dared to oppose him.
Despite his transformation, Shaezhar's intelligence and strategic mind remained intact. He was patient, willing to wait centuries to see his plans come to fruition. His desire for power and control over the undead drove him to constantly seek out new sources of dark magic and artifacts, further cementing his status as a feared figure in the shadow world.
The tragic tale of Shaezhar Deathhand serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of unchecked ambition and the perils of seeking power through forbidden means. What began as a lonely mage's quest for creation ended in his eternal damnation as a lich, forever bound to the dark forces that had deceived him.
Skull
Skull is a Major Staff of the dead.
This twisted and grim-looking staff is adorned with hideous skull and bone motifs. Creatures summoned using this staff gain a number of temporary Hit Points equal to the level of the spell used to summon them.
Thelgax
Thelgax was created to serve Shaezha. Presently, both the lich and the dagger are inactive. In its current state, Thelgax acts as a +2 greater striking dagger (3d4 damage). The only method to awaken the dagger is by reviving its creator.
Investing in the weapon unlocks certain features:
- Thelgax can transform mirrors into Shadow Gates, providing entry to Shraen, a city between realms.
- Additionally, the dagger’s owner can cast "Bind Undead" once daily.
Necronomus
Necronomus is an ancient and malevolent tome, known as the Soul Cage for the lich Shaezhar Deathhand. This dark artifact is bound in the skin of fallen enemies and inscribed with blood, containing forbidden knowledge and powerful necromantic spells and rituals.
